    Published rates. No fine print.

Golden Age Companions® publishes hourly rates by care level so families can plan honestly. After the free assessment we put the weekly figure in writing — before you commit to anything.

    Level 1 — Companionship

Conversation, outings, meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, medication reminders.

    $36/hour

    Level 2 — Personal Care

Everything in Level 1, plus bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance.

    $38/hour

    Level 3 — Advanced & Memory Care

Everything in Level 2, plus dementia and Alzheimer's support, two-person transfers, continence care, and non-medical comfort care alongside hospice.

    $41/hour

Most families start in Level 1 or 2 and adjust as needs change. We’ll tell you which level fits after the free assessment — and we’ll put the weekly number in writing before you commit to anything. Overtime and holiday rates follow California law and are spelled out in your service agreement. No assessment fee, no minimum contract, no membership.

    Ways families pay

Three ways this gets paid for.

    • Private pay
    • Long-term care insurance (we file the claim)
    • VA Aid & Attendance
    • Medicare does not cover non-medical home care

If a long-term care policy is in the file cabinet, bring it to the assessment. We read the benefit language, file the claim, and invoice the carrier directly so the policy pays instead of you.

    Questions we hear often

The rest of the fine print.

Is there a minimum number of hours?

Most visits are four hours or longer so caregivers can complete meals, personal care, and light housekeeping without rushing. Shorter visits are considered case by case.

How are overtime and holidays handled?

Overtime and holiday premiums follow California law and are spelled out in your service agreement before you commit. We do not publish overtime tiers online because scheduling determines how they apply.

Do you charge for the assessment?

No. The in-home or virtual assessment is free, and there is no minimum contract or membership fee to start.

Does long-term care insurance really cover this?

In most cases, yes. We handle the claim paperwork, coordinate with the carrier, and invoice them directly so the policy pays rather than you.

    The next step

A caregiver in the home typically within 24–72 hours.

Call and you’ll reach someone who knows your case. We’ll walk through the situation, recommend a level, and send the weekly figure in writing.
